Police Chief Jeff Long Starts Tweeting to Lakeville Families
Jeff Long is expected to make the move from the Edina Police Department to Lakeville next week.
The future Lakeville police chief has opened an account on Twitter to begin tweeting to Lakeville residents.
Jeff Long, formerly the Edina police chief, is expected to officially begin his Lakeville position on Jan. 20, the city previously announced.
Long was chosen out of a total of three finalists.
"Chief Long’s ability to build relationships and rapport within his department as well as in the community, were qualities we looked for,” Lakeville Mayor Matt Little said in a city statement at the time. “He has a track record of partnering with the community and pro-active approaches to law enforcement.”
