‘White Christmas’ Arrives in the Twin Cities This Week
What can you do in the Twin Cities this weekend? Go to a horror festival and watch a live performance of "A Prairie Home Companion."
The 10 days of horror theater, music, dance and stories start on Halloween—Thursday, Oct. 31. The festival starts at 7 p.m. at the Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55454. There is a detailed schedule of Twin Cities Horror Fest performances through Nov. 9.

Yes, the holidays are fast approaching. Starting Nov. 1 and ending Dec. 1, the Phipps Center for the Arts will begin productions of “White Christmas” on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday. This weekend, the Irving Berlin musical will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, and Saturday, Nov. 2; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. Tickets are $24 for adults and $17 for students. There is a $2 discount for seniors during Sunday matinees. The art center is located at 109 Locust Street, Hudson, WI 54016.

A live broadcast of “A Prairie Home Companion” will begin at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Historic State Theater. Guests include Billy Collins, Sam Bush and Cantus. Tickets are $35, $48 or $55. The address of the State Theater is 805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55402.
