6 Lakeville Area Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
Lakeville North and Lakeville South have three students each that qualified for the semifinalist round.
Six students at Lakeville Area Public Schools are National Merit Scholarship semifinalists in the 2014 competition.
Lakeville North students:
Jennifer Abere
Michael Dokken
Lucie Lyon
Lakeville South students:
Ryan Best
Margaret Gadek
Mitchell Miller
Semifinalists must meet certain requirements, such as writing an essay and filling out a detailed application, to receive the opportunity to advance to the finalist stage. In spring 2014, National Merit Scholarship winners are chosen from the group of finalists, and they will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
