Fame has nothing to do with the kind of pride we feel for our children. What makes you proud of yours?
If there’s one thing I’ve learned as the parent of a 1-year-old in the last year: We all have dreams for our children. Huge, ambitious dreams. And, of course, we never know what our children will become. I can’t possibly imagine what it’s like to see your child become famous on television. Which is why, on Monday night, I just asked. I met David Mrozinski at the Eagan Patch’s Voice Viewing Party at Ansari’s in Eagan. The event was as much an …

Nicholas Mrozinski’s quick rise to fame on "The Voice" has stunned and delighted his fiancée Krista Balaski and close friend and manager Jackson Eddy.
Jackson Eddy was working as a barista at an Eagan coffee shop when he first heard Nicholas Mrozinski perform. At first, nobody in the coffee shop paid much attention to the young musician with a little keyboard and long hair, Eddy remembered. But when the faltering Mrozinski broke through his stage fright and found his voice, Eddy snapped to attention. "I stopped what I was doing, and I was like 'whoa'," Eddy said. Fast forward and Eddy, Mrozinski's longtime manager and close friend, is now scrambling to keep up with all the emails, voice messages and fan mail for Mrozinski—a budding celebrity who is a top performer on NBC's nationally televised musical competition, "The Voice". "It's non-stop, said Eddy, who also works full-time as a …
