Bites Nearby: 'Enjoy!' Restaurant's Chilean Sea Bass

Executive Chef Adam Leisenheimer presents hearty and healthy seafood at Apple Valley's Enjoy! Restaurant.

Enjoy! has been serving guests in Apple Valley for seven years, but for the last six months, Executive Chef Adam Leisenheimer has been preparing a variety of "surf and turf" on the menu. There's been a surge in orders of seafood due to the health benefits of eating more fish, said Leisenheimer.  One of the most popular items, Chilean sea bass (otherwise known as the Patagonian toothfish), combines the flavors of cooked veggies such as Brussels sprouts and Swiss chard with bacon, a medium flavor fish and citrus beurre blanc sauce. The result is a gorgeous dish which is both healthy and delectable.

Bites Nearby: Lakeville's Molly Cool's Offers Up Paella with a Personal Touch

Molly Cool's serves up complex flavors in this family recipe.

Molly Cool's Manager Tyler Bonine said they have something for everyone, and among their range of seafood dishes, they take special pride in their paella. Taken from a family recipe, this delicious bowl combines chicken, mussels, fish of the day, saffron rice and other herbs and flavors.  While their recipe has its own secret ingredient, they did let us into their kitchen to watch the complex and full flavors spring to life under the able preparation of Assistant Manager Steve Michaels.

Tyler Bonine and Steve Michaels have worked there since the restaurant opened on Oct. 23, 2009, under the ownership of Premier Companies of Eden Prairie, which also managed Stella's Fish Cafe and Prestige Oyster Bar. Premier Companies also has a Molly Cool's location in Milwaukee, WI, but sold its Lakeville restaurant, located at 17516 Dodd Blvd., to a local individual, whom Michaels said prefers not to be named. Local investor Tim Hasse owns the building. Michaels and Bonine now serve as co-general managers. "A local …

Somewhere between Red Lobster and Oceanaire? Ew. We went to Molly Cool's once and didn't like the way no one tried to rein-in the children using the aisles as a playground. No thank you. When we want a fine dining experience, we'll go to Oceanaire. Can't think of the last time we were ever in a Red Lobster.   more ›
