Lakeville Debate is Headed to State Tournament

The State Debate Tournament, which is the Minnesota State High School League's longest running event, marks its 112th anniversary this year.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from the Lakeville Area Public School District. The State Debate Tournament, which is the Minnesota State High School League's longest running event, marks its 112th anniversary this year.   The tournament will be held at Willey and Blegen Halls on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis Jan. 18 and 19—this Friday and Saturday.  This year's Lincoln-Douglas Debate topic is "Resolved: Rehabilitation ought to be valued retribution in the United States criminal justice system." Qualifiers from Lakeville are Sam Anderson, Josh You, and Dylan Adelman. Twenty-four students from 16 schools are qualified for the Lincoln-Douglas debate.
