First: where can you find some New Year's bubbly in Lakeville? There are three liquor stores in Lakeville: Generally speaking, people refer to all sparkling wines as champagne. Actually, the only wines that can be called champagne are the ones that are produced in the Champagne region of France, hence the name. MillerCoors has been directed by the State of Minnesota to come up with a plan to pull all of its 39 beer brands, including Miller Lite, Coors Light and Blue Moon, from store shelves and restaurants in the next few days.
Thanks to the state shutdown, in a matter of days, the Silver Bullet may not be allowed to make any more beer runs to Lakeville’s bars, restaurants and liquor stores. Doug Neville, a spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety which over sees state liquor regulation, told the Star Tribune that MillerCoors, the company that brews and distributes products like Coors Light, Miller Lite and Blue Moon, failed to properly renew their brand label registration with the state before the shutdown began on July 1.
