PHOTOS: Post Your Lakeville Prom Photos on Patch

Prom night for Lakeville North and Lakeville South juniors and seniors is Saturday night. But, you don’t have to wait until then to post your prom-related photos here.

It’s nearly prom time in Lakeville. Lakeville North and Lakeville South high schools are conducting a joint prom Saturday night at the Crown Plaza Hotel in St. Paul. Lakeville North’s grand march is planned for 4 to 6 p.m. at the high school. Lakeville South’s grand march will be from 4 to 5:45 in South’s auditorium. The Lakeville prom could be described the glamour event of the year for students at both high schools, as well as their families. It's one long photo op, and Patch is the perfect place to share your pictures with the community. Lakeville South High School to Host First Job Fair on May 22

In other District 194 news, Lakeville South students will pack meals for Feed My Starving Children and reading tutors are being sought in the district.

Run by students in collaboration with the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce and the Lakeville Business Education Committee, this job fair is bringing together a diverse range of local employers, all of whom seek to actively hire high school students. Companies such as AllState, Anchor Bank, Home Depot, Finish Line, and McDonalds, along with many others, will be present at this fair, ensuring that students have access to a wide selection of potential employment opportunities. Newsweek Names Lakeville South as 769th Best High School in USA

The magazine's 2013 rankings came out Monday.

For its rankings, Newsweek sent out a survey to more than 5,000 high schools in the U.S., with about 2,500 schools responding in 2013. Lakeville South High School is proud to announce the opening of their Food Pantry.

The Food Pantry was initiated by Lakeville South High School students who saw a community need and took action by holding a food drive and securing a space in our school to store and organize the donated items. Names of Two Teens Injured in Tuesday’s Fatal I-35 Crash Released

Jonathan L. Thomas, 16, of Lakeville and Rey Chacon, 17, of Burnsville were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol has released the names of the two other passengers involved in the fatal single-vehicle crash just north of the Burnsville-Lakeville border Tuesday afternoon. Jonathan L. Thomas, 16, of Lakeville and Rey Chacon, 17, of Burnsville sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash on Interstate 35, according to a State Patrol media release updated Friday morning. Both were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for treatment. Both are students at Lakeville South High School. The name of the driver of the car has not been released by the state patrol. The driver was taken to Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Lakeville South Senior Continues Therapy

Dillon Borowicz fractured a vertebra in a pool accident last month. He is paralyzed from the chest down.

An 18-year-old Lakeville South High School student who fractured a vertebra in a pool accident last month continues physical therapy at Sister Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Minneapolis. Dillon Borowicz, an incoming senior and football player, is recovering from recent surgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, during which five of his vertebrae were fused and two rods were inserted along his spine, according to his CaringBridge page. He remains paralyzed from the chest down. Dillon’s spirits were lifted earlier this week when his school’s head football coach, Larry Thompson, and other members of the coaching staff visited him. Dillon has been hospitalized since July 15, when he dove into the family pool and hit his head on the bottom. He…
