Malt-O-Meal's Lakeville Expansion Hits Snag
The 2.5-acre parcel the company wants to use has an easement that prevents anything from being built on it.
Malt-O-Meal is looking to expand its Lakeville technology center located in the Fairfield Business Campus with a new office and parking area. The Northfield-based cereal maker wants to build a 36,000 square-foot, two-story office building, and a parking area, within the 4.5 acres of land purchased last year from New Morning Windows that is just east of its current building. However, the proposed area, which is a nondescript parcel of prairie-like grass land, located at 20802 Kensington Blvd., is restricted by a conservation easement, approved in 1995, intended to preserve the area in its current state.
