Coffee Concert Coming to Lakeville Area Arts Center

"Up Close and Personal" is the theme of this sixth season of coffee concerts at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

Great Minnesota Train Expo Coming to Dakota County in March

The model train expo will be held on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at the Eagan Civic Arena

Dozens of elaborate model trains will once again fill the Eagan Civic Arena this March as part of the Great Minnesota Train Expo, a two-day event sponsored by “The Choo Choo Bob Show.” The expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at the civic arena, whic is located at 3870 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan. Admission is $5, and children under 8 years of age are free. Participants can meet Choo Choo Bob, star of a children's television show produced in the Twin Cities. The show premiered last June on TV stations in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Sioux Falls, Duluth and Fargo. But children will also have a chance to play with toy trains, take part in a story time event and check out elaborate …

Lakeville Holiday Art Sale and Empty Bowls Fundraiser

The Lakeville Area Arts Center is hosting its annual Holiday Art Sale next week.

The Lakeville Area Arts Center is hosting its annual Holiday Art Sale from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, and from from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. The sale will remain open through Dec. 16 during business hours. Choose from unique artwork handcrafted by Lakeville Area Arts Center students and instructors. Shoppers will find a variety of mediums including jewelry, pottery, mixed media, and more.  Also as part of this sale, the Lakeville Area Arts Center pottery studio is proud to sponsor an “empty bowls” fundraiser. Our potters have donated their time to produce approximately 70 soup bowls which will be available at a suggested donation of $8 each. All proceeds are going to local food shelves to help feed the hungry. The …
