Here's a look back at what you may have missed from Lakeville Patch over the past week. The Search for Kekoa Ends Last Saturday, Patch learned the body of Keoka, the 7-year-old golden retriever lost by a Lakeville family last week, was found along Interstate 35. Kekoa apparently was struck by a vehicle and killed. It was a sad ending to a story that seemed to grip the community. UPDATE: Sen. Dave Thompson Responds to Ethics Complaint On Monday, Sen. Dave Thompson was the center of an ethics complaint filed by the DFL party. The complaint questions whether Thompson's $70,000 salary for consulting work for the Republican Party while he was a candidate for the state Senate was ethical. Back to St. Paul; 2012 Legislative Session Starts at Noon

The 2012 legislative session starts at noon today, and Lakeville's representatives hope to avoid the stalemate that ended last year's session with a budget breakdown and three-week shutdown.

Minnesota's legislative leaders head back to work today at the State Capitol, with gavels expected to fall in both the House and Senate chambers at noon to start the 2012 legislative session. Job creation, a new Minnesota Vikings stadium, the February fiscal forecast, and a number of capital projects to be included in the "bonding bill", are expected to be the main topics of debate this year. In a preview of the session, Patch spoke to Lakeville's three legislators about their priorities, thoughts, and areas of concern for this year's session: The Vikings stadium debate grew more heated on Jan. 24 when Gov. Mark Dayton, a stadium supporter, told the Vikings that the only viable site for a new stadium was where the Metrodome now sits. That …
