Today, Lakeville North, which is home to the Panthers, hosts 1,802 students in grades 9-12. Before Lakeville South High School opened in 2005, North was known simply as Lakeville High School and housed all of the district's grade 9-12 students.
The school is led by Principal Marne Berkvam and in 2009 was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Prior to North, Lakeville's high school was in the building that is now Kenwood Trial Middle School.
