Led by Principal Kate Eisenthal, the school is home to 862 students in grades six to eight. Kenwood Trail hosts the district's only competitive swimming pool.

The school is located along Kenwood Trail, about halfway between Interstate 35 and downtown Lakeville.

McGuire Middle School

McGuire Middle School opened in 1956 and at that time, was Lakeville Junior/Senior High School. It held grades 7 toMore 12 until Kenwood Trail Middle School was built in 1975. The building then became a middle school.

In 1982, the school was renamed Donald J. McGuire Middle School in honor of the retired, longtime superintendent.

Today, McGuire is Lakeville's largest middle school, home to 938 students in grades 6 to 8. The school is adjacent to JFK Elementary School and the district office.

The school is led by Principal Joshua Alexander.

When Lake Marion Elementary School opened in 1990 at the corner of Kenwood Trail and Dodd Boulevard, it was nearly inMore the middle of nowhere. Downtown Lakeville was more than a mile to the southeast and the development adjacent to the school, including Ames Ice Arena, Lakeville North High School and the commercial areas were not yet built.

Today, the school is surrounded by development and is home to 596 students in grades K - 5 and Principal John Braun has been the school's leader since it opened.
