Pet of the Week: Adopt Mr. Handsome, Rescued From Joplin Tornado Zone
Mr. Handsome, a Bassett Hound mix, is one of many dogs and cats available for adoption through Last Hope pet rescue.
Editor's note: This is a weekly series called "Pet of the Week" where we feature a companion up for adoption from Last Hope animal rescue.
Mr. Handsome is a 5-year-old Basset Hound mix—though he looks almost purebred—who loves people and would make a great, easygoing family dog.
Mr. Handsome is from the Joplin, MO, area, where his family lost their home in the tornado of May 2011. They then lived in a FEMA trailer, but when the trailers were taken away the family couldn't find a new home that would allow them to take Mr. Handsome with them.

He really needs a stable, permanent home, as he was with his original family for his entire life. He doesn't like puppies, but is good with grown dogs and children.
