Three Lakeville Residents Competing in Today's Boston Marathon

Every Lakeville participant in the Boston Marathon is 50 or older.

Today is that special time of year when thousands of friends, family and strangers come together to run the streets of Boston in the name of determination, perseverance and, above all, crossing the finish line after 26.2 miles.

Among those in today's 2012 Boston Marathon are three Lakeville natives.

According to our sister site, , runners scheduled to run are advised to do so with caution. Because of the expected high temperatures of nearly 90 degrees on Monday, the Boston Athletic Association issued an email statement on Saturday that offered a deferment to any official runner who would like to postpone his or her participation until 2013.
