Lakeville North, South Teams Place in GIrls State Swim Meet

Lakeville North girls are 12th, Lakeville South 18th in the state swimming and diving meet Saturday

The Bodnaruk girls had two top eight finishes to lead while Brianna Alexander paced in the swimming and diving season finale Saturday.

Lakeville North finished 12th and Lakeville South was 18th in the 2011 MSHSL Class AA state swimming and diving meet in the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.

Edina easily repeated as Class AA team champions with 316 points. Minnetonka was second in the meet with 188, Stillwater third with 171, Eden Prairie fourth with 165 and Rochester John Marshall fifth with 141.

Lakeville North results

The Panthers placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the quartet of Julia Bodnaruk, Brenna Smith, Erin Kleiner and Alena Bodnaruk in 1:39.04.

Julia Bodnaruk was eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.19 and 16th in the 100-yard freestyle in 54.01.

Alena Bodnaruk was sixth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:07.93 and 10th in 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.65.

Kleiner was 14th in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.51.

Julie Bodnaruk, Smith, Kleiner and Bodnaruk won the consolation final in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:35.29.

Lakeville South results

Brianna Alexander was fifth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:06.71 and eighth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.17.

Lakeville South was 14th in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Taylor Perko, Alexander, Shea Bougie and Carrie Schrock swam a 1:52.07 time.

The Cougars were 12th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Schrock, Alexander, Allison McKennell and Haley Chatelaine finishing in 1:40.35.
