Sports Rundup: Panthers, Cougars Get In Their Mid-Week Kicks

The South Suburban Conference soccer season opened for all four of the Lakeville varsity squads on Tuesday as South hosted Eastview and North traveled to Apple Valley.

North Girls Soccer

The North girls soccer team improved to 5-0 on the season with a 5-0 shutout of host Apple Valley.

All five Panther goals came from different players as Alexa Trakalo, Emily Clarkin, Erica Elias, Mollie Christensen and Simone Kolander all found the net. Goalkeeper Alexis Joyce needed just one save to record the shutout.

North Boys Soccer

North goalie Connor Revsbeck made seven saves to blank defending state champion Apple Valley on its own field as the Panthers boys soccer team remained unbeaten on the season (3-0-2) with a 0-0 tie against the Eagles.

South Girls Soccer

The South girls soccer team lost for the first time this season, 1-0, to visiting Eastview. The defeat dropped the Cougars to 4-1-1 on the year.

South Boys Soccer

The South boys soccer team also suffered its first loss of the year, dropping a 6-0 decision to seventh-ranked Eastview. The loss put the Cougars' record at 3-1-1 this autumn.

North Volleyball

The No. 2-ranked North volleyball team claimed a 3-0 sweep of Owatonna in its home opener on Tuesday night. Individual statistics were not made available.

South Swimming and Diving

The South swimming and diving team defeated Burnsville, 93-77, on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not made available.

North Swimming and Diving

The North swimming and diving team lost 98-86 at Prior Lake on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not made available. 

Results for the North girls tennis team's scheduled meet on Wednesday were not made available.
