Sports Roundup: Rivalry Week For North And South

Panthers, Cougars go head-to-head in a number of sports this week.

It was rivalry week for the Lakeville North and South soccer and volleyball teams, who went head-to-head on Thursday in three competitions.

North vs. South Boys Soccer

The tenth-ranked North boys soccer team claimed a 3-0 defeat of South on Thursday.

Tyler David, Toby Khounviseth and Joey Decklever all scored for the Panthers, with goalkeeper Connor Revsbeck making eight saves for the shutout.

North improved to 6-0-2 on the season. The Cougars fell to 4-4-1 in the loss.

North vs. South Girls Soccer

Fifth-ranked North shutout South, 2-0, in a girls soccer showdown on Thursday.

Alexa Trakalo and Simone Kolander both scored for the Panthers, with Alexis Joyce making four saves for the shutout.

North improved to 9-0, while South fell to 5-3-1.

North vs. South Volleyball

Top-ranked North defeated sixth-ranked South in a five-game volleyball marathon (22-25, 25-20, 17-25, 26-24, 15-13) on Thursday. Individual statistics were not made available.

North Girls Tennis

The North girls tennis team topped Bloomington Jefferson, 6-1, on Thursday. Individual statistics were not made available.
