Panthers, Cougars boys and girls all advance to 1AA semifinals with Thursday night wins.
It was a triumphant evening for Lakeville soccer on Thursday as all four Lakeville squads claimed victories to open their respective Section 1AA Tournament playoff runs.

Two goals apiece from Simone Kolander and Taylor Brownrigg gave the top-seeded North girls soccer team a 4-0 shutout win over No. 8 seed Rochester Mayo, advancing into a home semifinal against No. 4 Owatonna at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Second-seeded South claimed a 3-1 defeat of No. 7 seed Rochester John Marshall as the Cougars will now host No. 3 seed Northfield in the semis at 1 p.m. Saturday. Individual statistics were not made available.

Top-seeded North blew out No. 8 John Marshall 7-0 in its sectional opener as Tyler David scored three goals to lead the squad. The Panthers will host No. 4 Northfield in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday.
No. 2 seed South eked past No. 7 Rochester Century 1-0 in its sectional quarterfinal and will host No. 3 Mayo at 11 a.m. Saturday in the semis.
North Volleyball
The fifth-ranked North volleyball team won 3-1 at No. 6 ranked Shakopee on Thursday to improve to 20-5 on the season.
Following a match versus visiting No. 10 Chanhassen at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, the Panthers close out the regular season at home against Roesmount at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
