Lakeville South Girl's Tennis Sends First Ever Participants to State

Doubles partners Shelby Henderson and Erika Williams will be Lakeville South's first girls tennis participants in the brief history of the school.

is sending its first ever participants to the State Girls Tennis Tournament.

Senior captains and doubles partners Shelby Henderson and Erika Williams will be playing a team from Mounds View at 10 a.m. Thursday at the University of Minnesota's Baseline Center in the first round of the doubles tournament.

Playing tennis on the South team since 8th grade, the duo teamed up to play doubles in the section individual tournament. They were given the 3rd seed in the section tourney and beat a very good team Rochester Mayo team to advance to the section final and a berth in the state tournament. They ultimately lost to the other Mayo doubles team.

This is the first time any tennis player has made it to state at Lakeville South.
