PHOTOS: Panthers Run At Roy Griak Invitational

Lakeville North girls, boys cross-country teams compete on a picturesque Saturday.

It was a perfect day for a run and the Lakeville North cross-country teams made the most of it by competing in the Roy Griak Invitational on the University of Minnesota's Les Bolstad Golf Course on Saturday afternoon.

Competing in the top rung of the high school competition, the Gold Division, the Panthers girls finished 17th and the boys took 25th after their respective runs on the five-kilometer course.

Emma Johnson led the girls with a 36th-place run of 19 minutes, 49.1 seconds, followed by Taylor Perkins in 42nd with a 19:56.3.

Also contibuting to the Panthers' team score were: Chloee Sagmoe (21:06.7) in 147th, Katie Martinek (21:17.5) in 169th and Riley Broughten (21:40.3) in 210th.

Among the 410 finishers were North runners Hannah Evers (22:06.2) in 258th, Amy Ferguson (22:19.6) in 287th, Karlee Klinkhammer (22:21.1) in 289th, Elle Severson (22:27.0) in 296th and Haley Eskierka (22:27.1) in 297th.

For the boys, Ben Saxton led the way with a 19th-place run of 16:24.09.

Chipping in on the Panthers' team score were: Spencer Castillo (17:26.44) in 126th, Jason Dawson (17:44.34) in 190th, Luke Anderson (17:47.04) in 204th and Corey Peterson (17:56.04) in 229th.

Joining the 471 individual finishers were North runners: Jack Brenner (18:18.04) in 305th, Jason Windhorn (18:29.49) in 335th, Perry Smith (18:51.89) in 388th, Lewis Kunik (19:04.34) in 402nd and Alex Augedahl (19:15.74) in 415th.
