The Lakeville North football team did exactly what it was supposed to do on the road last week, throwing up 42 first-half points in a 56-7 pasting of Bloomington Jefferson. This week, the Panthers host a Prior Lake team that is just one game behind the Panthers in the South Suburban Conference standings. However, the Lakers' one loss was a 49-14 schellacking at home against Lakeville South.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
North
Quarterback Zach Creighton went wild last week, throwing for 277 yards and four touchdowns before the Panthers called off the dogs at Jefferson. Running back Jamiah Newell also ran in a pair of scores.
Lakers
Running back Jack Johnson ran for 111 yards and one touchdown in Prior Lake's 17-7 win at Rosemount last Friday.
WHO WILL WIN
There's really no reason to believe that North loses this one. It's simple math: Panthers 47, Cougars 24 + South 49, Prior Lake 14 = North triumph.
