Panthers Top Cougars In Sectional Boys Lacrosse Showdown

Lakeville North eliminates South, 6-3, in postseason matchup.

The Lakeville North boys lacrosse team ended Lakeville South's season in the first round of the Section 3 playoffs on Wednesday night as the postseason rolled on.

North Vs. South Boys Lacrosse: Panthers 6, Cougars 3

North swept its season boys lacrosse series against South as the seventh-seeded Panthers defeated the 10th-seeded Cougars, 6-3, in the first game of the postseason for both teams.

Individual statistics from the game were not made available. South's season comes to an end with a 4-9 record, while North moves on to face No. 2 Eastview at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Apple Valley.

South Girls Lacrosse: Bloomington Kennedy 15, Cougars 8

The South girls lacrosse team was eliminated in the Section 3 quarterfinals on Wednesday by means of a 15-8 loss at Bloomington Kennedy.

Individual statistics from the game were not made available. The Cougars season came to an end with a 6-8 record.

South Baseball: Burnsville 12, Cougars 1

A 12-1 five-inning loss to visiting South Suburban Conference champion Burnsville in the regular-season finale on Tuesday gave the Lakeville South baseball team a 7-13 overall record and a 4-13 circuit mark as the squad heads into the postseason.

Individual statistics from the game were not made available. The Cougars open the Section 3AAA Tournament as the eighth seed and will host No. 9 Rosemount (4-15 this spring) in the openind game on Friday at 4:15 p.m.

The North baseball team is seeded sixth and hosts No. 11 Henry Sibley, also at 4:15 p.m. Friday.
