After defeating Lakeville South 47-24 in Week One last Thursday, North looks to improve to 2-0 in its home opener versus Bloomington Kennedy. The Panthers dismantled the Eagles 35-7 at Bloomington Stadium last season and have not lost to them since a 30-27 setback in 2006.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
North
Fullback Tanner Jacobus led the North rushing attack last week with an even 100 yards on the ground, while quarterback Zach Creighton passed for just 38 yards, but two touchdowns.
Kennedy
Qurterback Tra Hearns threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns last week in a 45-33 home loss to Hopkins, with running back James Ellis scampering for 44 yards and a score.
WHO WILL WIN
North could be in for a bit of a challenge against an upstart squad that went 4-3 last season after opening 0-3. However, the Panthers have lost just one home opener in the last five years -- to South in 2009 -- so, don't expect many sad faces amongst the hosts tonight.
