Lakeville North, South Lacrosse Teams Nearing End Of Regular Seasons

Panthers, Cougars lacrosse squads readying for sectionals with final pre-playoff games.

The Lakeville North and South lacrosse teams continued to gear up for the sectionals with their final set of pre-playoff games this week. All four area lacrosse teams will have their regular seasons concluded by Monday.

South Girls Lacrosse: Cougars 11, Rochester John Marshall 7

The South girls lacrosse team improved to 5-6 this spring with an 11-7 non-conference victory over Rochester John Marshall on Tuesday.

Abigail Ness and Logan Halvorson each scored three goals apiece, with Ness adding three assists in the victory.

North Boys Lacrosse: Bloomington Jefferson 10, Panthers 9

The North boys lacrosse team lost in overtime, 10-9, to Bloomington Jefferson on Tuesday to fall to 4-6 overall and 2-6 in the South Suburban Conference.

Charlie Hayes led the Panthers with four goals, while Sam Larson and Willy Wang each netted two scores apiece in the loss.

South Boys Lacrosse: Rosemount 16, Cougars 7

A 16-7 home loss to conference rival Rosemount on Tuesday dropped the South boys lacrosse team to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the South Suburban.

Alexander Larsen scored four goals, with Paul Duckstad chipping in three goals and two assists.

North Girls Lacrosse: Bloomington Jefferson 13, Panthers 8

The North girls lacrosse team fell to 7-4 overall this season with a 13-8 loss to visiting Bloomington Jefferson on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not made available.

South Baseball: Rosemount 13, Cougars 2

A 13-2 loss to Rosemount on Wednesday dropped the Lakeville South baseball team to 6-12 overall and 4-12 in the South Suburban. 

Hunter Harnisch hit a two-run home run for the Cougars in the bottom of the second inning that proved to be the only runs for the home side in the five-inning loss.

North Baseball: Panthers 9, Prior Lake 2

The North baseball team improved to 10-9 overall and 9-7 in the South Suburban with a 9-2 defeat of conference rival Prior Lake on Wednesday. Individual statistics were not available.

North And South Boys Golf: Panthers Fourth, Cougars Fifth In Conference Meet

The North and South boys golf teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in a South Suburban meet at Inver Wood Golf Club on Wednesday.

Individual scores were not available; the Panthers carded a 314, the Cougars a 317.

North Boys Tennis: Panthers Win Section 1AA Opener

The Norht boys tennis team won its Section 1AA Tournament opener, 5-2, over Austin on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not available.
