North plays at home for the first time since being stunned by visiting Prior Lake in a 10-6 loss two weeks ago. The Panthers quickly got back on the good foot last Friday with a 28-7 win at Burnsville and look to hold on to at least a share of the South Suburban Conference lead with the Lakers this week against an Eagan team that got its first win of the year, 35-0, at woebegone Bloomington Jefferson last Friday.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
North
Quarterback Zach Creighton led the Panthers with 122 passing yards and 174 rushing yards at Burnsville, also running in two scores. Fullback Tanner Jacobus and running back Jamiah Newell also tallied one rushing touchdown apiece versus the Blaze.
Wildcats
Quarterback Mitch Seidel threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns and also ran in two scores to go with 119 rushing yards against Jefferson.
WHO WILL WIN
If North loses this one, it might be time to start believing the Mayans were right about the world coming to an end in December. Before last week's win, the Wildcats had yet to score more than 16 points in any of its previous five contests -- including a 7-0 loss at Burnsville. With Prior Lake hosting Eastview Friday, the Panthers could wake up Saturday morning all alone atop the conference standings once again.
