The blog will be hosted by Lakeville Patch local editor Derrick Williams and Duluth East graduate and freelance sports reporter Sarah Packingham. The two will be offering commentary throughout the big game, coupled with insight into the seasons of the two teams.

Patch coverage will begin at 5 p.m.—so check back here—with the puck slated to drop around 6:15 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center.

The two teams didn't meet during the regular season. South finished the year with a 20-8-0 record, and Duluth East finished 27-1-0.
