Lakeville South Girls Cross Country Takes 2nd At State

The Lakeville North girls squad took 14th place at the Class AA meet.

The girls cross country team placed second on Saturday in the Class AA state championships at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

The Cougars finished with 118 total points, second only to state champion Monticello at  93 points. Wayzata took third with 140 points. Lakeville North finished the day in 14th place with 295 team points.

Freshman Kaytlyn Larson was South’s top finisher, running the 4-kilometer race in 14:36.7. Annie Brekken finished 12th at 4:47.7. North’s top finisher was Taylor Perkins in 21st place with a 15:09.9 finish.
