Lakeville South Boys Basketball Advances to Section Championship

Cougars beat Eastview on Saturday.

The Lakeville South boys basketball team won a 56-50 game against Eastview on Saturday in the Section 3AAAA semifinals held at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

The Cougars (20-8) will face Apple Valley on Friday in Northfield for the section championship. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Lakeville South took an eight-point lead at halftime and never looked back. Alex Richter led the team with 14 points, while Jon Christensen scored 10 points and Riley West finished with nine.

For the Lightning (22-5), which entered the game on a seven-game winning streak,  Joey King led the team with 23 points. Frank Veldman had 10 points, and Lethzee Caldron had eight.
