Lakeville Park and Recreation Calendar Features Nature Adventure Camp

Each week Lakeville's Parks and Recreation Department offers classes and programs for Lakeville residents to take part in. Here's a list of upcoming events.

Nickelodeon Universe Mall of America, Bloomington

Purchase 3-hour ($19), or 5-hour ($21), discount wristbands to this family attraction. Purchase online at www.lakeville-rapconnect.com or at the Lakeville Parks & Recreation office in City Hall, 20195 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville. Please pick up tickets at City Hall.

Safety Camp

This camp is designed for kids entering grades 3 & 4 (2011-’12 school year). They will enjoy learning about safety in these two days of excitement, fun, and adventure. Mon., Aug. 15, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Tues., Aug. 16, 8:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m. Families are invited to a graduation ceremony on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. Camp is held at Antlers Park, 9740 201st St. W. $32/person includes t-shirt.

Plant Camp

For ages 6 & up (parents welcome to register). Spend a day exploring the many marvelous and wonderful plants found at Ritter Farm Park, 19300  itter Trail on Wed., Aug. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wear long pants, good hiking shoes and a bring a lunch/beverage. $45/person.

Nature Adventure Camp

For ages 6-12. TWO fun-filled, active nature days. Discover many other surprises as we get up close and personal with the wonderful outdoors! Thurs. & Fri., Aug. 11 & 12 at Ritter Farm Park, 19300 Ritter Trail from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., $89/person.

Bird Banding

Join naturalist, Mark Newstrom and Roger Everhart for an up-close and personal look at wild birds on Sun., Aug. 14 from 9 a.m.–noon at Ritter Farm Park, 19300 Ritter Trail, Lakeville. It’s a great way for families to learn about birds. $2/per person 10 & older and free for children under 10.

Lynch Summer Tennis Camps

For ages 4-12. In a fun, energetic atmosphere your child will learn or improve upon stroke production, strategies of the game and enjoy the fun of competition. Lynch Camps provide professional, high quality athletic camps to communities. Mondays-Thursdays, various times and dates, $25/$50/$70

Learn To Skate Program

Indoor skating lessons for ages 3-adult. One hour lessons are held on Tuesday mornings and afternoons, Oct. 25-Dec. 13 and on Saturday mornings, Oct. 22-Dec. 17(no lessons on 11/26). Several skating level times are offered. Lessons are held at Hasse Arena, 8525 215th St., Lakeville. $89/session and $125/P.A.L.S.level. Registration begins Aug. 10.
