Lakeville North Volleyball: Alyssa Goehner Twice Named Player of the Year

Alyssa Goehner was named player of the year by the Star Tribune and the Pioneer Press.

Alyssa Goehner is the Star Tribune 2013 Metro Player of the Year and the Pioneer Press Player of the Year.

The senior at Lakeville North is recognized for her athletic talents that includes a vertical jump of 35 inches. According to the Pioneer Press: "Goehner had close to 3,000 kills over five seasons at Lakeville North, including 608 this season. This season, she also had 56 service aces, 333 digs and 47 blocks."

Said the Star Tribune: "Goehner’s abilities might only be surpassed by her reputation. With awareness of her volleyball prowess fueled by social media, she is easily the most high-profile volleyball player the state has produced."

After high school, Goehner has plans to attend Marquette University, which she committed to in her sophomore year, according to the Pioneer Press. 

This season Lakeville North was just shy of advancing to the state tournament.
