Lakeville North, South Girls Track And Field Competes At State True Team Meet

Panthers, Cougars dodge the raindrops in Class AAA event at Stillwater High School on Friday.

Both the Lakeville North and South girls track and field teams competed in the 25th-annual state Class AAA True Team championship meet on a soggy Friday night at Stillwater High School.

The "True Team" concept assigns a point value to every competitor in each event, thereby rewarding a deeper team rather than a squad with a handful of elite athletes.

North, the Section 1 champion, took fourth overall with 747 points, while Wild-Card entrant South finished fifth with 663 points.
