Lakeville North Beats South in Section Matchup
The Panthers defeated the South-side Cougars in section quarterfinal.
The Lakeville North girls basketball team rolled past rival Lakeville South on Wednesday in Section 3AAAA play, routing the Cougars 86-32.
The Panthers (25-2) limited South to 12 points in the second half. With the win, North advanced to Saturday’s section semifinal against Park Cottage Grove. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
North’s Hannah Hughes led all scorers with 21 points in the game, while Rachel Banham finished with 19 points and Taylor Stewart added 11.

For South, Maddie Turbes finished with a team-high 12 points, and Kelsey Thulien had seven.
The Cougars finished the season 1-26.
