Lakeville North and South Boys Clash for Trip to State Hockey Tourney

North upended South in last year's Section 1AA final. Tonight's winner goes to state.

Lakeville's two varsity boys hockey teams will meet again tonight, but this time it's for the Section 1AA crown and a trip to the State Boys High School Hockey Tournament.

No. 1 (19-8-0) will face No. 2 (14-13-0) at 7 p.m. at the Rochester Recreation Center. It's the third time the two teams will meet, with North taking the first match-up on Jan. 7 by a score of 4-3, and South winning the second game 4-2 on Feb. 9.

South, which has Mr. Hockey finalist, and University of Minnesota recruit, Justin Kloos, has been ranked in the Top 10 of Minnesota's best teams all season, and comes into the game as the favorite. But they were the favorite last year, too, before , on the back of star goaltender Charlie Lindgren. It was the second straight trip to State for North.
