Lakeville Baseball, Softball Teams Split Rivalry Games

Panthers claim softball victory, with Cougars taking baseball win on Monday.

Doing the best that they can against wildly varying weather conditions, local teams continued to compete in the early stages of their respective seasons despite Mother Nature's folly. 

North/South Softball: Panthers 3, Cougars 1

Sarah and Erika Rozell helped propel Lakeville North to bragging rights over Lakeville South with a 3-1 home victory on Monday.

Erika went 3-for-3 offensively with an RBI, while Sarah struck out 11 batters in a four-hitter.

North improved to 3-2 with the win as it prepares for a trip to Eagan on Wednesday, while South well to 2-3 on the year with a home game against Apple Valley on Wednesday.

North/South Baseball: Cougars 9, Panthers 4

Lakeville South topped Lakeville North, 9-4, in the first cross-town battle between the clubs on Monday night as the Cougars improved to 3-1 on the season and the Panthers fell to 2-3.

Statistics from the game were not available. South is scheduled to host Apple Valley with North traveling to Eagan on Wednesday in a pair of South Suburban Conference matchups. 

South Girls Lacrosse: Cougars 13, Rochester Mayo 5

A 13-5 defeat of visiting Rochester Mayo on April 14 improved the Lakeville South girls lacrosse team to 2-0 on the young season.

Abagail Ness leads the Cougars with six goals and six assists, with Abby Quinnell and Kelly Gustafson both having notched five goals apiece in the first week.

South plays at Prior Lake on Thursday night.

North Girls Lacrosse: Eden Prairie 16, Panthers 7

The Lakeville North girls lacrosse team fell to 1-1 with a 16-7 home loss to state power Eden Prairie on April 14. 

Hannah Koloski leads the Panthers with 12 goals and five assists, while Kacie Waagbo has nine goals and six assists under her belt.

North's schedule shows a home game versus Blake on Tuesday and a road trip to Bloomington Kennedy on Thursday afternoon.

North Golf: Vetter Medals At Chaska Invite

Christi Vetter earned individual medalist honors with a card of 79 as the Lakeville North girls golf team took fourth at the Chaska Invitational with a score of 360.

The North boys golf team took seventh in a South Suburban meet at Minnesota Valley Country Club. Individual results were not available.

South Boys Lacrosse: Rochester Mayo 11, Cougars 8

The Lakeville South boys lacrosse team fell 11-8 to visiting Rochester Mayo on April 14 and has a trip to Prior Lake on the schedule for Tuesday night.

Individual results were not available for the Cougars, who were 1-1 after the first week.

North Track and Field: Panthers Boys First, Girls Second In Mega Meet

The Lakeville North track and field teams hosted an 11-team "Mega Meet" on Monday, with the boys winning with 193.5 points and the girls taking second with 164 points. Individual results were not available.

Results were not available for the Lakeville North or South boys tennis teams.

South Golf: Cougars Boys Third In Conference Meet

The Lakeville South boys golf team took third in a South Suburban meet at Minnesota Valley C.C. with a team score of 316. Individual results were not available.
