Ideal Days For Lakeville's Midweek Matchups

Lakeville North and South teams basked in the sun on Tuesday and Wednesday, making the most of the cooperative weather.

Tuesday and Wednesday featured two of the most ideal back-to-back days of the spring sports season so far and sports teams from Lakeville North and South made the most of it with a full schedule of events.

North Boys Lacrosse: Panthers Remain At .500

A 6-5 loss to Prior Lake on Tuesday combined with a 7-3 defeat of Farmington on Wednesday kept the Lakeville North boys lacrosse team even at 3-3 on the season.

Jack Hughes leads the Panthers with 11 goals, while Willy Lang and Alec Larson have both netted nine goals apiece.

North hosts Lakeville South on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

South Boys Lacrosse: Cougars Drop To 2-3 This Spring

The South boys lacrosse team fell to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the South Suburban Conference with an 8-3 home loss to Bloomington Jefferson on Tuesday.

Heading into the game, Aaren Larsen led the Cougars with six goals, with Matthew Hoffbeck logging four goals.

South travels to North for a 7:30 p.m. game on Friday.

North Girls Lacrosse: Panthers 18, Prior Lake 10

An 18-10 defeat of Prior Lake on Tuesday improved the North girls lacrosse team to 5-2 on the spring.

Hannah Koloski led the Panthers with seven goals, while Kacie Waagbo and Lauren Storhoff tallied four and three scores, respectively.

South Girls Lacrosse: Jefferson 15, Cougars 4

The  Lakeville South girls lacrosse team lost at home to Bloomington Jefferson, 15-4, on Tuesday to fall to 3-3 this year.

Abby Quinell scored twice, with Hannah Brown and Abigail Ness notching one score apiece in the loss. 

North Baseball: Burnsville 10, Panthers 3

The North baseball team dropped to 7-5 on the season with a 10-3 loss at Burnsville on Wednesday night. 

Jordan Kath, Austin Streit and Alex Hanneman drove in the Panthers' runs, with Gordon Kappers and Hanneman both going 2-for-3 at the plate. Pitcher Tyler Brekke suffered the loss.

South Softball: Cougars 8, Prior Lake 0

An 8-0 defeat of Prior Lake upped the Lakeville South softball team's record to 7-4 overall and 6-4 in the conference.

Individual statistics were not available. The Cougars play at Eastview on Monday, May 9 at 4:15 p.m.

North Softball: Panthers Drop To 4-7

Back-to-back midweek losses to Eastview (6-0) and Bloomington Jefferson (7-3) on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, dropped the North softball team to 4-7 overall and 3-6 in the South Suburban.

Maggie Olson leads the Panthers with a .481 batting average, with Erika Rozell hitting .429, while holding a 3.14 earned run average off the pitching rubber with 60 strikeouts.

North travels to No. 1-ranked Burnsville on Monday, May 9 for a 4:15 p.m. start.

North Boys Golf: Thomas Medals As Panthers Win Red Wing Invite

Freddy Thomas earned individual medalist honors with a two-over-par round of 73 at Mississippi National as the Lakeville North boys golf team won the Red Wing Invitational with a score of 297 over 18 holes on Tuesday.

South Boys Golf: Cougars Take Third At Mississippi National

The South boys golf team placed third at the Red Wing Invitational by posting a team score of 317 at Mississippi National on Tuesday. Individual results were not available.

South Boys Tennis: Cougars Blanked By Jaguars

The Lakeville South boys tennis team fell to 1-5 with a 7-0 loss to Bloomington Jefferson on Tuesday. Individual results were not available.

North Track And Field: Panthers Third, Sixth At Conference Relays

The North track and field teams competed in the South Suburban Relays on Tuesday with the girls claiming third with 166 points and the boys placing sixth with 129 points. Individual results were not available.

South Track And Field: Cougars Second, Eighth At Conference Relays

The South track and field teams competed in the South Suburban Relays on Tuesday with the girls taking second with 188 points and the boys coming in eighth with 106 points. Individual results were not available.
