Home Sweet Home. The Lakeville South football team plays on its home field for the first time since Aug. 30 when it hosts Burnsville. A three-game road trip began in fine form with a 49-14 dismantling of Prior Lake, but then went sour with a shutout loss at Edina and an overtime defeat at Apple Valley. The Cougars are in need of some home cooking and a victory.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
South
Senior running back Jordan Johnson may not have crossed into the end zone with the winning two-point conversion attempt last week at Apple Valley, but he did put the Cougars in position for overtime with two touchdown scampers. Kicker Brendon Boche also hit two field goals.
Blaze
Quarterback Will Reger ran for two touchdowns and passed for another in Burnsville's 24-0 defeat of Bloomington Kennedy last week.
WHO WILL WIN
Three weeks and counting of making the wrong prognostication regarding South's result. We've twice picked South to win and once for them to lose -- only to be incorrect every time. This time, if for no other reason than to do the Cougars a favor, we're taking Burnsville to claim victory... with hopes of running our record to 0-4.
