Several Varsity Sports Open Fall Seasons This Week

Soccer, tennis and swim/dive teams at Lakeville North and Lakeville South have matchups scheduled.

The first day of classes for students and high schools is more than two weeks away. Yet, the schools’ varsity athletic programs already are moving at full speed toward their first games and meets.

In fact, a few teams open their fall schedules this week.

Members of the Lakeville North girls tennis team see their first game action today, as they host a tournament with Eden Prairie and Owatonna beginning at 9 a.m.

Also opening their seasons this week are Lakeville North’s boys soccer, girls soccer and girls swim and dive teams, and Lakeville South’s boys soccer, girls soccer, girls swim and dive and girls tennis teams.

Boys cross country—8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Rosemount Invitational
Girls cross country—8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Rosemount Invitational
Football—7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Lakeville South
Boys soccer—Thursday, Aug. 23, hosting Rochester Mayo
Girls soccer—7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, hosting Minneapolis Washburn
Girls swim/dive—5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Austin
Girls tennis—9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, hosting Lakeville North Tournament (with Eden Prairie and Owatonna)
Volleyball—7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, hosting Bethlehem Academy
