Lakeville School Board Member Bob Erickson to Run Again

Erickson tells Sun Thisweek he wants to continue to advocate for transparency within the district.

According to Sun Thisweek, Lakeville School Board Member Bob Erickson will run for a second term.

Filing for office isn't until July 31, but Erickson made the announcement last week citing his desire to "advocate for 'continued transparency, both internally and externally,'" the report said.

Erickson is a former Lakeville city administrator and current board member of the Friends of the Lakeville Area Arts Center. He serves as the School Board’s treasurer.

will have more on Erickson's candidacy, as well as the other candidates to run for local offices.

Not to be picky, but Bob has been on the board the shortest out of all the members. However I couldn't agree more with the others. Kathy Lewis for example has been on the board for 26 years....Judy Keliher, 16 years. Michelle Volk 12 Years.

Yes, I agree Charlie - I was referring to Bob on the City board and now the school board....it's a stale bunch of people and I hope that this community get's these people off the pine. It's time for fresh leadership!

I've come before the school board on 3 seperate occassions as a concerned parent about policy they would be voting on that would greatly impact our schools and children. On each and every occassion I was met with blank stares and bored expressions that told me they had already decided the outcome and were only letting people speak because they have to, and not that they would actually consider what was being said to them. If this board refuses to HEAR the people and THEN consider their vote then they should NOT get another term! They are obviously not concerned about what the people think so lets get fresh blood in that DOES care!

I am a firm believer that the overwhelming majority of elected officials are a self-serving bunch of individuals. They parade around asking what THE MAJORITY would like corrected, issues resolved etc...but once they are actually elected THE MAJORITY were nothing more than pawns to being elected! Their thinking turns to everything that they believe in and what they want to make happen personally. All you have to do is listen to the way they talk: I think, I feel, I believe, I want, I wish .... It's not "I have talked and listened to the majority and this is how THEY feel!!! I don't give a rats *** what these people think personally. Regardless of how they personally feel/think they need to have the majority in mind and that is how they should be making decisions PERIOD!!

Again not to be picky, but Bob was never on the Council, he worked for the city, city administrator, as an employee.
