UPDATED: Lakeville Area Public Schools are Closed on Tuesday
District 194 has canceled school due to the continued cold temperatures forecast for Tuesday.
Lakeville Area Public Schools will remain closed on Tuesday due to the dangerously cold temperatures, the district announced.
The district has also closed Kid Zone, Small Wonders and early childhood programs. Other programs may be held, according to the district statement:
"As conditions are expected to improve throughout the day, some afternoon and evening sporting events and practices will be held. Visit the high school’s website for more details. Evening Community Education enrichment programs, and community use of buildings will be held. Evening Community Education ECFE classes are cancelled."
A wind chill warning remains in effect until 12 p.m. Tuesday. The wind chill could reach 37 below Tuesday morning.
UPDATED 3 p.m. Monday
Lakeville North High School: The building will open at 3 p.m. Tuesday for afternoon activities, according to a statement on the high school website. The following games are listed as occurring as scheduled at Lakeville North:
- Boys Basketball vs. Burnsville
- Gymnastics vs. Eagan
- Girls Basketball at Eagan High School
- Boys Hockey at Eagan High School
"Nordic and Alpine practices will follow the MSHSL recommendation for cold weather practices," according to the statement.
