10 at Lakeville Area Schools Named National Merit Commended Students
Lakeville North and Lakeville South have five students each who received commended status.
Lakeville Area Public Schools announced that ten students in the district had been named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The recognition is given to students who show "exceptional academic promise" and placed in the top 5 percent of the over 1.5 million students who took the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, according to a district news release.

The school principals will present each student with a letter of commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
