Your Take: U.S. Supreme Court Strikes Down DOMA

'Anyone see an issue here?' asked one commenter on the Lakeville Patch Facebook Page.

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) Wednesday  morning, opening federal benefits to all married couples, including same-sex couples.

How are you feeling about that in Lakeville?
On the Lakeville Patch Facebook page, where 10 people liked a post about Wednesday's ruling, Andrew Bruemmer of Lakeville commented:

The only issue I see is that this topic even has to be ruled on by the Supreme Court. I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure the court ruling doesn't mean people are now forced to marry same sex.
Added William Wells III:

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter how I feel... my moral compass is being impacted almost daily, it seems. My beliefs are now insignificant and beliefs that aren't my own are being forced on me... however, if I were to try to hold firm to my beliefs, I'm infringing on others who don't share the same beliefs as me. Anyone see an issue here?
Wrote Theresa Berthene Sayers:

I think it's about time. Equality for all people.
Responded Chris Bovitz:

Fabulous.
