Progressive Rail has notified the city of railcar movements occurring Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The company is moving railcars "parked between 188th Street and County Road 70," according to the notice. Crossings at and between the locations will be affected most likely in the morning hours before noon, said Progressive Rail.

Hopefully they're moving the railcars out for good. Last time I checked, Lakeville neighborhoods are not classified as "rail yard".

My understanding is that this notification is due to the crossings that will be blocked as they move railcars around. It's not a permanent removal.

Thanks Andrea. Yes, it is just wishful thinking on our part that the railcars would move out for good. The residential railcar storage business is no longer due to a poor economy, but rather part of Progressive Rail's new business model.
