MPR: Dave Thompson Set to Run for Governor
The state senator representing Lakeville told Minnesota Public Radio his formal announcement will come Wednesday.
Lakeville's state senator wants to be Minnesota's governor.
That's the word from Minnesota Public Radio, which reported Saturday night that Sen. Dave Thompson (R-Lakeville) has decided to run for governor in 2014:
Thompson told MPR News that he plans to file the campaign fundraising paperwork on Monday, with a formal announcement planned for Wednesday.
Thompson is an attorney and former radio talk show host, who was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2010. He won re-election in 2012 and currently serves as an assistant minority leader.
