Meeting Preview: Taxation Hearing Set for Dec. 3 Council Meeting

Lakeville's annual Truth in Taxation Hearing headlines this week's meeting agendas.

The city has three separate meetings this week, highlighted by the Dec. 3 City Council meeting where the annual Truth in Taxation hearing will be held.

The regular meeting of the City Council will start at 7 p.m. at Lakeville City Hall and during the taxation hearing, residents can come to get more information about the property tax levy and ask questions and raise concerns about property taxes.

The 2013 final budget and tax levy are subject to Council approval during the Dec. 17 meeting.

In addition to the Truth in Taxation hearing, the council will bu holding a more routine hearing to consider proposed assessments for weed and grass removal and property maintenance code violations from the summer.

On Wednesday, the Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Committee will meet at the 6 p.m. at City Hall.

Finally, at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Lakeville City Hall, Lakeville's Planning Commission will hold their meeting. That group will hold a public hearing to consider the application of Rose Lake Development, Inc. for a preliminary plat of 49 single family lots to be located northwest of Dodd Boulevard and northeast of 183rd Street.
