Tuesday's going to be a busy day for Lakeville's elected officials.
The School Board has a special session just prior to its regular meeting on Jan. 19, and the City Council meeting will also be held on Tuesday since Monday—the council's normal meeting day—is the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and city offices are closed.
Lakeville's School Board will first meet at 5 p.m. at the district office for its special meeting to discuss a host of items, including an update from the new security task force, as well community engagement efforts, and the LinK12 Academy.
At its regular meeting, starting at 7 p.m., also at the district office, the School Board is expected to hear a report discussing the district's gifted education program.
The City Council will be also be meeting at 7 p.m., just down the road at City Hall, but the agenda is light.
There's no new business on the agenda—just reports from the Minnesota Department of Transportation regarding 2013 I-35 projects, the police chief's monthly report, and the Parks and Recreation Department monthly report.
