Letter to the Editor: Kerrin Swecker—Thank You For Another Term

Letter writer: "I am sincerely humbled and grateful to have been re-elected by the voters to serve another term as your City Council representative."

To the editor,

I am sincerely humbled and grateful to have been re-elected by the voters to serve another term as your City Council representative.

Throughout my years on the Council and Planning Commission I have had the opportunity to learn from and work with many fine community leaders.  I have been impressed by those who have worked for the betterment of the community; and in doing so conducted the City’s business in a respectful and positive manner. Our town is better for their collaborative spirit and servant leadership.

My commitment to this community has not changed, nor will it during my second term as your council member.  I remain steadfast to good fiscal stewardship, a positive business growth environment and ensuring the quality of life which are the reasons that we have chosen Lakeville to be the place we have built our businesses or raise our families.

I will continue to be accessible and will listen to your concerns.  The decisions that I make may not always be the most popular, but they will be thoughtfully considered and well researched with the best interest of the community, as a whole, in mind.

We have exciting times ahead of us. Our community was chosen by Money Magazine as the 19th “Best Place to Live” in the United States for a reason.  We have terrific community involvement, excellent schools and a much improved business climate.  My goal is to expand on our strengths, overcome our weaknesses and make us all proud to say that we live or work in Lakeville.

Our democracy is best when we all participate in it. Our Council has pledged to reach out to the Community for assistance in crafting our future. Next year the City will be working to envision the future for Lakeville. We will need your help. When the opportunities arise, please step forward to let us know what your vision is for Lakeville. With your help we can make Lakeville even better.

Thank you, again, for the opportunity to serve on the City Council.  This is a huge responsibility, which I do not take lightly.  I am truly humbled.

Sincerely,

Kerrin Swecker, Lakeville City Councilor
