Lakeville School Board, City Council Active This Week

City Council meeting heavy on reports. School board to decide next Superintendent this week.

The Lakeville City Council will meet this evening at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers at to hear a slate of reports that includes a presentation by the Lakeville school district's about their Chemical Awareness Program and an annual report from the .

The Lakeville Liquor Department will also present their mid-year report along with a second quarter report from the fire department.

Lakeville’s Police Department and parks and recreation department will also provide their monthly report.

The council is also expected to take action on a resolution supporting a two-lane roundabout to be installed at the intersection of CSAH 50 (Kenwood Trail) and CSAH 60 (185th Street). Council members will also consider entering into an agreement with Arnett, Muldrow & Associates, LTD, for the preparation of a Economic Development Marketing Strategy.

Lakeville Area School District 194

The Lakeville school district as final interviews of two finalists will take place on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21.

Bob Laney, currently the Assistant Superintendent of the St. Louis Park school district and Lisa Snyder, the current superintendent of schools in Merrill, Wisconsin, will each spend a day touring the district facilities and meeting with groups that include staff, teachers, students and the community.

Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the public portion of the interview process each night at Lakeville South High School. Candidates will be on hand to answer questions from the community from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. each evening and community members will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the school board after each session.

Candidates will face off for their final interviews with the school board at 7:45 p.m. each evening at the district offices. Those meetings are also open to the public.

A decision on Lakeville’s new superintendent is expected following the last interview on July 21.
