Lakeville's Roz Peterson to Run For Minnesota House in 56B

State Rep. Mary Liz Holberg (R-District 36A) was redistricted into 56B, but she announced last week she's going to run for the 58A seat.

Lakeville School Board Member Roz Peterson announced on her Facebook page yesterday that she intendeds to run for a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Peterson said she intends to seek the Republican endorsement for the Minnesota House District 56B seat at the party's March 17 convention.

The seat was slated to be State Rep. Mary Liz Holberg's (R-District 36A), of Lakeville, after the . But last week, , which encompasses the majority of Lakeville, and most of the turf she currently represents.

The 56B seat is mostly a Burnsville seat, but includes the Lakeville addresses west of Interstate 35 and south to 185th Street West, along with a small chunk to the east of Interstate 35, including the Argonne and Crystal Lake neighborhoods.

Peterson, if she wins the seat, would have to resign from Lakeville's School Board, where she's been a member since 2007. Her term is slated to run through Dec. 31, 2014.
