Lakeville City Council Selects Finance Committee Members

The Lakeville City Council has selected members for its new Finance Committee, which was created to be an advisory body on financial planning, policies, and practices.

The Committee will make recommendations to the Council regarding:

• Short- and long-term financial planning.
• Local, state, and national trends in finance and the economy.
• Legislative issues including levy limits and property tax relief programs.
• Review of quarterly financial reports and compre­hensive annual financial report.
• Communication and education relative to City of Lakeville budget and finance.

The seven members and one alternate were selected by the Council after an application and interview process. The committee will meet monthly and the members will serve three-year staggered terms. Staff liaisons will be the City Administrator and the Finance Director.

Members selected are:

Douglas Anderson—Experienced finance executive, Anderson has been a Lakeville resident for 24 years and is Chief Financial Officer for Hamline University.

Ben Coons—Offers 20 years of business experience in communications, sales, and service. Coons is a resident of Prior Lake and is the owner of Advanced Wireless.

Scott Einck—MBA from Drake University with experience in portfolio management, Einck has been a Lakeville resident for eight years and works for Wells Fargo Bank.

Chris Hoins—A past member of the Lakeville Arenas Board, Hoins is experienced in finance and accounting and has been a Lakeville resident for 16 years. Hoins works for Stratasys, Inc.

Craig Manson—Rotary member, president of the Lake Marion Association and a CPA with 15 years of experience,  Manson has been a Lakeville resident for 13 years and works for Ceridian Corp.

Darrel Mullenbach—With 17 years experience advising private companies on financial and economic issues, Mullenbach, a CPA, has been a Lakeville resident for 12 years and works for Larson Allen, LLP.

John Tuschner—With degrees in Finance and Economics, Tuschner has worked in the financial field for more than 17 years and been a Lakeville resident for 21 years. Tuschner currently works for Sovran, Inc.

Alternate Member, Tim Peterson—Commercial banker with a mathematics degree, Peterson has been a Lakeville resident for 15 years and works for Wells Fargo Bank.
